Fisiognomica " tratti somatici"

è la nuova sfida con la quale si confronta Raffaela Maria Sateriale, pittrice eclettica e sorprendente per l'innovazione che riesce a sviluppare nei media artistici. Il cimento è di quelli che fanno tremare i polsi: la Sateriale si confronta con il ritratto, genere consolidato e codificato dell'espressione creativa. E lo fa cogliendo la storia su un doppio binario. Da un lato rende omaggio al quattrocentesimo anniversario della nascita di Livorno, riprendendo le sembianze di uomini che hanno reso importante il nome della città labronica nel mondo, dall'altro " come ci ha insegnato l'antropologia francese" cataloga con metodo quasi scientifico i tratti somatici di una miriade di figure che costellano la sua percezione quotidiana. Gli estremi, così apparentemente lontani e diversi, si toccano e si fondono sulla superficie animata delle opere che, come al solito, riflettono un'accurata preparazione e composizione. La personale di Sateriale raggiunge il carattere di un catalogo antropologico ragionato nell'installazione video in cui centinaia di volti noti e sconosciuti si susseguono in una contestualizzazione digitale e con un sonoro appositamente preparato nel laboratorio multimediale dell'artista.  Nella pubblicazione che accompagna l'evento si materializzano le provocazioni e gli scimmiottamenti della società attuale, a partire dal formato editoriale che assomiglia più a una rivista gossip che a un catalogo d'arte. Stimolante poi la plurivocità di autori che tratteggiano con la penna un'ideale biografia dei personaggi ritratti e che danno compimento in tal modo ad un progetto letteralmente "a tutto tondo".
